I have been in private practice since 2007. After many years of working as a School Counselor and School Psychologist I went to work in the clinical setting treating individual and families with a focus in trauma focused therapies and working the military.
My treatment approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, equine assisted psychotherapy, EMDR, ART and Yoga Nidra IREST. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in North Carolina and Kentucky and has supervising credentials. I am a member of both the American Counseling Association and the Kentucky Counseling Association.
I have taken my love of horses and became trained (2009) and certified in the EAGALA Model of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy which is recognized as the gold standard for this type of work. My husband and I founded a non-profit 501©3; Horses that Heal, Inc. The mission of the non-profit is to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy for Veterans and active duty military at “No Cost”.
When I am not working, I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time with family.
